Tell us about yourself
Born and raised in Utrecht, I spent all of my time playing outside with the kids from the block. I had endless energy; my mom had to drag my brother and me in at night. I still have a LOT of energy, so Rocycle is the perfect job!! I only moved to Amsterdam 5 years ago when I was 20, after living in London and traveling for 2 years. In addition to Rocycle, I just graduated last summer! So I’m currently hunting for a cool job, but I will definitely continue at Rocycle, as it’s too good to quit.

5 facts people might not know about you:
– I used to have super straight hair until I turned 12, and I suddenly got curls out of the blue!
– My brother has the same tattoo as I do (very cheesy, but also very cute).
– I love playing the piano. It’s one of the few things that can keep me focused for ages.
– I have the worst sense of direction in the world. Very often I need to do the awkward 180 degree U-turn in the middle of the street after walking out of a store.
-My boyfriend comes to my 7:00 A.M. classes just so I don’t have to get up and bike to the studios alone <3.

What profession would you like to have if you weren’t a Rocycle instructor?

Oh, there are so many things I would love to do. Sometimes I don’t know where to start. One way or another I will pursue them all, just by working with inspiring people in different fields. One thing I know is that I love to travel, so hopefully I can do this as part of my next profession.

Why should people join your classes?
To step out of their busy lives for a moment and let go of pressure, stress or expectations from others. Just to have a moment for themselves, loving their strength and giving and gaining SO much energy. The mutual goal is to leave that room steaming, with a great, strong, happy and proud feeling inside.

Which song is your guilty pleasure?
Calvin Harris – The Girls. The whole album has this “it’s so bad, that it’s good” thing going on. Those lyrics! Haha! Also “Acceptable in the 80s.” They’re all silly and funny and good.

What is the best Rocycle advice you have been given?
“Stop partying around 4:00 A.M. if you have to teach the next morning.”

Who was your childhood hero?
The Spice Girls and my brother (who could have been a member with his camera skills back then).

Name 3 words to best describe your post-Ro’Ride feeling?
STRONG, ENERGISED, and CAPABLE (of anything).

Words to live by…
Don’t pretend.
Love the way you differ from others. That’s what makes you who you are: unique.

All-time favorite Rocycle song?
Earlylate – The Micronaut.

What is your favourite ride of the week?
I love the morning rides. They give you such a great start to the day.

What is happiness to you?
Feeling positive, cheerful and healthy and being able to share that positive energy with everyone I bump into.

What has been your most memorable moment of your Ro’Career so far?
The pre-opening kitchen sessions at Rogier’s house.
Let me explain. Before Rocycle opened, we had to train and needed to practice the moves. So we put 6 Rocycle bikes in a circle in Rogier’s kitchen, all facing each other, with loud music on, and practised. His neighbour must have been thinking what the f*ck; all these girls going in and one hour later they walk out with tomato red faces!
