My Morning Routine: Roxy
Have you ever wondered what it was like to wake up another person? Now, you can. We checked in with our other badass founder, Roxy, to find out what her mornings look like. It’s finally time to wake up on the right side of the bed!
Wake up, open curtains, cuddles.
Shower and get dressed.
Make breakfast, do my hair and makeup and feed the cats, all at the same time. Often, I like to tackle a house chore in this window as well, particularly laundry.
Leave on my bike for work.
Alright Roxy, now that we’ve got a better idea of what a typical morning looks like for you, we’ve got a few more burning questions. Would you say that you’re a morning person?
When I wake up, the first thing I do is cuddle my boyfriend and cats, jump in the shower, make us all breakfast whilst doing my makeup and pack my bag for the day.
Whew! What a busy morning. What time do you usually wake up?
7:20 AM if I am going for a morning ride or 8:00 AM if I am going straight to the office.
Even still, we’d say 8:00 is quite early! You mentioned morning rides; do you prefer to work out at night or first thing in the morning?
What I like about morning Rocycle rides is that before everyone starts their day, we have already overcome pyramids, challenges and given a burst of energy. It always makes me feel proud of myself and the others around me – a perfect mind-set to start the day.
We couldn’t agree more! It’s the best way to get going. Are you a big breakfast eater? What do you normally eat in the morning?
My breakfast at the moment is a homemade yoghurt-banana-berries-oatmilk smoothie. Every couple of weeks, I change to something else. I like the variation.
It’s always good to switch things up every now and again. Coffee or tea?
Definitely tea during the day and 1 coffee a day, in the morning ideally. If I have more, I start to feel guilty. No idea why!
Well you’re so energetic, even with just one cup! So what wakes you up in the morning? The sun? An alarm? Your boyfriend? The cats?!
Natural body clock or an alarm. If I use an alarm, I intend to use the app Sleep Cycle that wakes you up in a spectrum of 20 minutes, right when you’re in your lightest sleep.
So, now we know what it’s like to wake up with Roxy! But tell us, what do your mornings look like?
