RIDER SPOTLIGHT: Felicia
At Rocycle we’re all about Mind Body Music, but, just as important is the fact that we’re a family. So, to make sure each class is not just a party but a reunion, we’d like to introduce some of our Ro’Regulars. One of our favourite self-proclaimed ‘fitness freaks’ sat down with us to dish on being a studio assistant, the healthiest way to hang out with friends and the importance of adding an extra shot of ginger to your daily juice. Keep reading for more juicy details.
Hi Felicia! So happy we finally got to chat with you this week. Want to tell us a bit about yourself?
Hey my name is Felicia. I’m 26 years old, a recent graduate and now pursuing a career in social work. I work fulltime at Studio West, the hotspot for creatives in Amsterdam. We give young people the opportunity to evolve into a creative, successful person through innovative workshops and coaching methods across a broad range of disciplines including theatre, music, dance and media. Besides working at Studio West, I am a health and fitness freak and even work once a week as a studio assistant at Rocycle.
Working and playing at Rocycle – now that’s dedication! Can you tell us how you found us?
Actually Herns, whom I’ve known for over 10 years, brought me to Rocycle. When I heard he was looking for a companion to try out Rocycle with, I was immediately interested because not only would it be a fun new workout but also an opportunity to hang out with him more. After a while, we decided it was our time to shine on the Ro’stage, so we auditioned to become instructors. While we both made the cut, it didn’t quite work out for me. Luckily, though, I still got the chance to be part of the family working as a studio assistant.
And it wouldn’t be the same without you. Speaking of family, how does yours fit into your Rocycle story?
I actually try to convince all my friends and family to try out Rocycle. A few have already tried it and fallen in love. We occasionally take rides together because it’s such a nice, fun and healthy way to hang out with each other.
We couldn’t agree more. So, what about other forms of exercise? Or are you ‘Rocycle or die!’
I used to do a lot of HIIT workouts, weight training and running. Rocycle has been a refreshing way to work up a sweat, not to mention the endorphin rush you experience after class. AMAZING! I still do a lot of those workouts and weight train so that my workouts don’t get boring.
It’s important for the body and the mind to switch things up every now and again! After one of these intense sessions at Rocycle or training with weights, what is your favourite juice from the CPJ?
I really like The Reset because it gives you that tingling sensation you need in a juice. Of course with an extra shot of ginger.
Alright, last question: what does Rocycle mean to you?
Getting into my zone for 45 minutes (or longer) and just working up a sweat from head to toe. Crazy, bumping beats and working to the rhythm of the music. A real party on a bike!!
