Sprint to Spring
With the air a little fresher and the skies a little brighter, we know that finally spring is upon us. Well, at least until another cold front rolls in! But to honour one of the greenest, happiest seasons, we decided to take on a killer challenge: the 7 x 7 x 7 Sprint to Spring.
Oh, but what is the 7 x 7 x 7 challenge you ask? Why it’s only one of our most badass challenges to date. It’s 7 rides in 7 days for only 7 euros each. Sounds great, don’t you think? Last year, an amazing group of our powerhouse riders completed it, but this year, we’re sure that even more of you will hop on board.
We spoke to some of the riders who smashed the 7 x 7 x 7 challenge last year about what it was like and what advice they have for you guys this year.
How was the 7 x 7 x 7 challenge for you?
Estelle: I loved it! This was the perfect challenge to kick-start my training plan for the year. I need a challenge like this to keep me going because “just going to the gym” is sooo dull!!
Julian: The 7 x 7 x 7 challenge was great fun!
Dean: Last time it helped me undo some of the Pre-Christmas damage to my waistline ☺.
We know it’s super tough! What did you do to get through it?
Dean: Actually, it was pretty easy. The schedule gods lined up my favourite instructors back-to-back, so I managed to bosh out a few custom Ro’asteds to blitz through it.
Estelle: It’s all in the mind for me. I was in a particularly dark stage in life and needed something to get my mind (and body) back to a good place. Every day was a challenge with the 7 x 7 x 7, but at the end of each ride, I could not wait to get back on the bike.
Do you plan to tackle it again this year?
Estelle: YES YES YES.
Dean: For sure!
Julian: I’ll definitely be doing it again. Riding every day for a week takes you to a new level. It’s not just great for your fitness but also allows you to work on technique and power. And of course, it lets you rock out to some great music.
And what’s your best advice for completing an insane challenge like this one?
Julian: My best advice is to find a buddy and go for it!
Estelle: It’s hard but the mental and physical reward at the end of it is amazing.
Dean: Doubles all the way. The second class is always much easier than the first, and you definitely deserve a treat after!
