The lost sun returns
We can bet you noticed that the sun has been out in full force for a few days now. The good news? It’s here to stay for a little while. The bad news? We won’t really get to enjoy it, as we should be staying inside as much as possible.
While it’s totally tempting to hunker down in the park with some friends and a bottle of wine or to hop on a boat and cruise the canals, government regulations (as well as our concern for the wellbeing of those around us) are still in place. As much as we would love to be outside enjoying the glorious weather, we’ve got to stay put for our own good and the good of everyone else.
So, what are we to do? We’ve got a few ideas for you.
#1 If you have a balcony, a terrace or a garden, drag your most comfortable chair out there and refuse to move for the entire day.
#2 Cook yourself an elaborate lunch and enjoy it in the sunniest spot in your house.
#3 Go for a (solo!) walk through the canals. They look so beautiful when bathed in the warm glow of the sun.
#4 Find an empty bench. Park yourself there. Read for a couple hours.
#5 Perch by a window in your house and paint or draw the sun-drenched scene you see from the window.
#6 Set up your yoga mat in front of your biggest window and flow through a few sun salutations. There’s never been a better time.
#7 Become a real green thumb and get to work in that garden. If you don’t have a garden or balcony, that’s ok too! You can still pot up a few plants that will bring the outdoors in. Choose something that flowers to bring more beauty into your home.
#8 Get that golden glow. While you may not be able to get your usual tan like you would at the beach, find a spot where you get the most rays and try to get a little bit of color. Vitamin D is great for boosting your mood!
