By now, you all obviously know that we love music here at Rocycle. But sometimes, we like to plug our headphones into something a little bit different, something to challenge our minds a bit. When we’re not resisting the urge to tap our feet and shake our hips to one of our playlists on Spotify, we have a whole host of podcasts we love to listen to.

There are sooo many podcasts out there that it can be a bit overwhelming. After all, we don’t want to waste our precious spare time on unworthy listening. So we’ve got a list of our favourites here. The perfect list of podcasts no matter the mood

In Progress by Girlboss is a podcast that comes from Girlboss Radio, started by Sophia Amoruso. It brings together the best and brightest women from entrepreneurs to founders to creatives who sit down with the host Noor Tagouri to discuss how we can still focus on nurturing our wellbeing and self-growth in this crazy world of ours.

Revisionist History is a Malcolm Gladwell, of Blink, podcast that explores things that many people take for granted as the truth. It is a journey through the overlooked and misunderstood that begins with a simple inquiry each episode before Gladwell takes a deep dive into all tangential leads to get to the heart of the question.

Hidden Brain is a podcast that uses science and storytelling to help curious people like us understand the world around them, as well as themselves. Host Shankar Vendatam tackles a wide range of subjects from masculinity and its bounds to the difficulties of marriage to the way sleeping (or not) affects the body and the mind.

The School of Greatness is a podcast produced by former elite athlete and football player Lewis Howes. He created this podcast after a career-ending injury and months wallowing when he realised he needed to make a positive change in his life. This is a great one to listen to if you’re looking for some guidance for self-growth.

The School of Life is an organisation that focuses on developing emotional intelligence through the application of psychology, philosophy and culture to everyday life. They have a series of podcasts on an incredibly diverse range of topics, so you can really go to them for anything whether you’re wondering about the problem of shame or the appeal of lonely places.

This American Life is not just a podcast for Americans. In fact, this weekly podcast hosted by Ira Glass has a weekly theme, and each episode is divided into several “acts.” The content varies but is an incredibly engaging dive into whatever the subject may be and employs captivating storytelling skills to ensure there’s never a dull moment. Oftentimes it features stories that explore aspects of human nature.
